We're learning new details about the men who helped rescue another man who crashed his truck into the Feather River Monday morning.
CHP and PG&E weren't the only ones on the scene. Two friends passing by were also among the first to arrive at the scene of the accident.
Alan Kuentz and Will Ramey were on their way to Quincy to do some computer work at the Plumas County Office of Education.
They decided to get out and help when they saw what was going on.
Before Kuentz knew it, his friend, a former volunteer firefighter, was sliding down the embankment.
“I was talking to [the man] and thought ‘oh what are we going to do?’” Kuentz said. “I looked over, noticed Will slide down the side, so I said OK that's what we're going to do.”
Ramey, like the man he helped pull up the embankment, suffered some cuts on his hand.
