Glenn County Sheriff's investigators returned to the Sacramento River south of Hamilton City this week to search for more human remains, as they work to solve the mystery surrounding the discovery of partial remains last month.

On June 21st part of the skeletal remains of a foot and leg were discovered, and the foot was attachhed to a men's size 9.5 Brahma boot. Detectives are working to track down the area in which the boot may have been sold.

This week the Sheriff's Search and Rescue team along with cadaver dogs and their handlers spent hours searching the 2.5 mile area south of Irvine Finch Park. One dog alerted to an area along the west bank upstream of where the remains were found, and an underwater search was conducted by members of the dive team. but it met with negative results.

The skeletal remains have now been forwarded to the State Department of Justice Crime Lab, for DNA processing with hopes of determining who they belong to.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information, no matter how remote, to contact Detective Kelly Knight at (530) 934-6721 or, to remain anonymous, you may call the Sheriff's Secret Witness line at (530) 934-6627.
