After nearly seven years of service, Glenn County Supervisor Steve Soeth says he will resign at the end of the month.

In a letter to the County Clerk, Supervisor Soeth said it would be in the best interest of his family, now that he has accepted the position of public works director for the City of Willows.

Soeth added that the decision was a tough one and he will miss his time serving the board.

Governor Jerry Brown is expected to appoint a supervisor in the coming weeks to serve out the rest of Soeth's term.
