Glenn County Sheriff's detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of an Elk Creek toddler. A 911 call Monday afternoon brought emergency responders to a home on the Elk Creek Indian Reservation, where a 13-month-old boy was not breathing. A source close to the family told Action News Now that the child had been in the care of a babysitter, and was unresponsive when the mother returned home. He was taken to Glenn Medical Center, then flown to UC Davis Medical Center where he was reportedly taken off life support, after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
An autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause of death. Lieutenant Greg Felton said it's too early in the investigation to say whether it is suspicious in nature.
