Glenn County Supervisors are in search of a new director for Health and Human Services after accepting the resignation of current director Scott Gruendl.

The former Chico Mayor submitted his letter of resignation Tuesday, saying that after 22 years working for the county it is time for him to retire.

Gruendl's last day of work will be March 6, which is when he becomes eligible for retirement under the California Public Employee Retirement System.

Action News Now reached out to Gruendl for a statement on his resignation, but he has been unavailable for comment.
