Glenn Co. deputies arrest alleged fire station burglars

Deputies with the Glenn County Sheriff's Office arrested two people from Washington after they were found to be in possession of stolen property and drugs Friday afternoon.

A Glenn County deputy located a suspicious white van, with its windows covered by tarps, in the Fig Orchard campground at the Stony Gorge Reservoir and confirmed that the license plate matched a van wanted in connection to the burglarized Cal Fire station.

Deputies approached the van with guns drawn and removed Stevie Michelle Okerland, 36, and Loren Oliver Okerland, 39, both of Vancouver, Washington.

After taking the suspects into custody, deputies found a stolen .45 caliber handgun underneath the driver's seat, property stolen from the Cal Fire station near Butte College, several vehicle keys, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and marijuana.

Both suspects were turned over to Butte County authorities after waiving their right to be booked into the Glenn County Jail.

Both will face drug and weapons charges in Glenn County, in addition to burglary charges in Butte County.The Butte County Volunteer Fire Station #25 near Butte College was burglarized sometime Monday.

Police say the suspects stole a gas powered generator, a flat screen TV and two chainsaws.
