SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Giants right fielder Hunter Pence has been placed on the 15-day disabled list as expected because of a sore left wrist.

He hasn't played since injuring the wrist June 2 on a diving catch at AT&T Park against Pittsburgh's Andrew McCutchen, so Friday's roster move is retroactive to June 3. Pence already had begun the season on the DL because of a fractured left forearm he injured during spring training then returned May 16 to play 18 games.

He batted .282 with two home runs, four doubles and 13 RBIs. In each of the past two seasons, the 32-year-old Pence appeared in all 162 regular-season games.

San Francisco filled the roster spot by purchasing the contract of right-handed reliever Michael Broadway from Triple-A Sacramento. He flew in from El Paso.
