Gas prices have been dropping at a fast pace lately, hitting some of the lowest levels for some places in years. In October of 2012 the highest recorded gas price in the Golden State was $4.67. The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in California right now is $3.59 thats a $0.23 drop from one month ago.
The national average for regular gasoline has fallen for 19 days straight reaching the average of $3.19 per gallon. The lowest price of the year. The relief at the pump is due to the decrease in demand combined with an abundant supply.
"AAA is expecting more people to hit the road this Thanksgiving than last Thanksgiving." says AAA Manager John Foyater. "There is kind of a cautious optimism that is happening right now in California. The economy is doing well, that people can afford holiday travel and gas prices are either stable or right now they are dropping."
