According to the Cal Fire Battalion Chief John Sprague, four children have been burned in a flash fire that started in a vehicle on Rio Bonito Road.

Emergency crews blocked Larkin & East Hamilton Roads so three medical helicopters could land. Investigators say one 2-year-old, two 6 or 7-year-olds, and one 12-year-old were burned.

Two of the children were critically burned, one suffered serious burns, and one had minor burns.

Cal Fire says their mother was driving, and was not seriously injured. Three of the children were air-lifted to U.C. Davis Burn Center. The Cal Fire says a propane cylinder fell on a battery in the back of the vehicle, causing the blaze.

The children in the back of the vehicle suffered the worst burns. The vehicle was the only one involved in this incident.
