A former Shasta Lake City councilwoman had her sentencing hearing delayed Friday.
Dolores Lucero was found guilty last month of submitting documents with falsified claims of voter fraud. Lucero prepared the false documents when the City of Shasta Lake sought a recall election against her. The documents were her attempt to thwart the recall.
The judge delayed the sentencing as Lucero's attorney Aaron Williams says he intends to file a motion for a new trial.
Lucero is facing a maximum of three years in prison, but the probation department has recommended an eight month sentence with three years of felony probation.
Lucero will be back in court on October 17 for either sentencing or a hearing on the possibility of a new trial.
