Disgraced former Paradise Police Officer Patrick Feaster was arraigned in a Butte County Superior Court Wednesday facing charges related to the shooting death of Andrew Thomas Thanksgiving evening in Paradise.
Feaster was charged with involuntary manslaughter, according to court officials. Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey said that the decision to charge Feaster hinged on the fact that Feaster was neglectful in giving potentially life-saving medical attention to Thomas. A coroner's autopsy confirmed that medical attention could have saved Thomas' life. Feaster did not report to his superior officers on -scene that he had shot Thomas until more than 10 minutes after the shooting occured.
The injuries Thomas would sustain kept him in intensive care for more than a month. He would later die in the hospital.

Paradise Police Department Police Chief Gabriela Tazarri-Dineen announced that the department had parted ways with Feaster. She added that she was unable to comment on the circumstances behind his departure, as stated by law.
Last week, a community group advocating against police brutality called for the resignations of not only Feaster, but also Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey and Tazarri-Dineen for their roles in the shooting death of Andrew Thomas last November.
Feaster began following 26-year-old Thomas in his squad car the night of Nov. 26, who was allegedly driving his pickup from a bar with headlights off. Moments later, Thomas flipped his truck. The force of the crash threw his passenger, ex-wife Darien Ehorn, from the truck. She would die at the scene.
A later review of Fester’s police dash cam video shows, shows the officer walking up the wrecked truck, pulling out his handgun and immediately firing his gun, striking thomas in the throat. Feaster later claimed he fired accidentally.
Thomas would die nearly a month later.
