Former Oroville developer convicted on nine counts of sex abuse

Former Oroville developer Christopher Carter faces up to eight years in prison after being convicted of felony child sex abuse.

Carter was charged with 24 counts of child sex abuse and one count of poisoning. He was convicted on nine counts of child sex abuse. A mistrial was declared after jurors could not agree on the other charges.

Prosecutors said Carter continuously sexually abused a female victim for eight years.

Carter will sentenced on April 16.
