A former Butte County Correctional Officer accused of sex crimes with a female inmate accepted a plea deal Wednesday and faces six months in county jail.

Timothy Hill, 27, pleaded no contest to engaging in sexual activity in the presence of an inmate, and as a result charges of sexual battery and indecent exposure were dropped.

District Attorney Mike Ramsey says because the victim was the same in each charge, the dropped charges can still be considered during sentencing on October 16.

Hill was a correctional officer from November 2012 to July 2014.
