A former Chico music teacher, convicted of child molestation, has been sentenced to two years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Breazid "Sid" Lewis was sentenced Wednesday. He pleaded no contest to a felony count of child molestation in November of last year.

Lewis, who previously owned Chico's School of Rock, was arrested February 18, 2014 for allegedly exposing himself to a minor.

The case was investigated by the Butte County Sheriff's Office, and at the time officials said the minor had been a former student who Lewis was paying to do various jobs around his house. The minor told deputies that as she was working on February 7, 2014 she looked up to see Lewis masturbating and staring at her.

Lewis founded his former business, the Chico School of Rock in 2000, and reportedly gave more than 15,000 music lessons and organized hundreds of children's concerts.

Lewis is also on probation after pleading no contest to charges of assault with a firearm and corporal injury of a spouse in July 2014, according to court documents.
