Current Fire Situation: Fire activity picked up on multiple fronts yesterday as crews aggressively fought fire. Increasing fire behavior was observed on the Rail, Blue, Shiell, and Barker fires over night. Many of the fires within the Fork Complex pose the challenge of extremely steep and rugged terrain making access challenging in certain areas for direct attack strategies. All fires continue to be scouted for opportunities to safely access the fire and provide suppression action. Today will be the fourth consecutive day of accelerated drying of fuels under hot conditions. This afternoon smoke will linger at lower levels throughout the day with possible thunderstorms in the early evening and Friday. These thunderstorms are expected to bring little to no precipitation in the fire areas. If the smoke inversion lifts today, the lack of cloud cover will provide direct heating and an opportunity for the fires to grow. The following changes have been added to the existing evacuation and road closures as of yesterday at noon. Mandatory Evacuation Notice The area of 13 Dips Road is now under mandatory evacuation due to an increase in fire behavior. New Road Closures The 347 Road is closed. The 30N19 Road is closed southeast of the 347 Road to the junction of the 30N41 Road.
