Forest Service: Glacier breaks from Mt. Shasta, causes mudslide

The U.S. Forest Service in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest says a piece of glacier has broken away from Mt. Shasta, creating a mudslide down the mountain. According to the Forest Service, around 3:00pm Saturday, the glacier broke away, and by 6:00pm, the debris field had slide over Pilgrim Creek Road, forcing officials to shut it down.
