The FOCUS Film Festival kicks off in Chico on Thursday, October 23rd with the film " The Way Bobby Sees It" at the Sierra Nevada Big Room.
This is the 10th year for the festival, which explores documentary and narrative films that celebrate diversity, inclusion and disability.
"The Way Bobby Sees It" is about downhill mountain bike racer Bobby McMullen of Redding and how he continued to pursue his passion despite losing his vision.
McMullen is an inductee of the National Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame and a current nominee to the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. He will attend the event on the 23rd.
The Festival continues Friday and Saturday, October 24th and 25th, in Colusa Hall on the Chico State Campus where more than 30 films will be shown.
The FOCUS Film Festival is a project of Far Northern Regional Center, a non-profit organization that provides services and supports to people with developmental disabilities and their families. It's funded through grants and community donations.
