Motorists and pedestrians can expect traffic control to be in place at several railroad crossings in the downtown Chico area.

Union Pacific officials say rail crossing arms will be inoperable from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, at East 8th and East 9th streets, or state Highway 32, between Orange and Cedar streets.

Other city railroad crossings affected by the work will be at: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th streets, West Sacramento Avenue and a pedestrian crossing between 1st and West Sacramento Avenue.

Flaggers will be stationed at each crossing and stop traffic when trains pass through the area. Motorists are urged to use caution when approaching these railroad crossings.
