Forbestown and Brownsville are now better equipped to deal with wildfires following the completion of a five year project.
Work is now complete across some 240 acres, and six miles of roadway. Roads now have more visibility and homes are better protected.
"In my view, it's a win win for the public. Not only are the roads safer because of better visibility but they also act as a fire break to help protect the residence of Forbestown and the surrounding area " Says Mike Crump, Director of Butte County Department of Public Works.
The improvements will also defend the Feather River watershed, and other watersheds in Butte County.
The nearly $400,000 project was funded by the United States Forest Service.
