Butte County firefighters are on the scene of a travel trailer fire that spread to a home, and then nearby vegetation in Stirling City.

The fire was reported just after 4 p.m. at a property on Gypsum Street. Flames quickly spread from a travel trailer to a home, before burning at least half an acre of nearby vegetation.

Five engines, two water tenders and an aerial attack helped battle the blaze, which completely destroyed the travel trailer and caused significant damage to the home.

Additionally, fire officials say at least one power line has been knocked down and a Pacific Gas and Electric Crew has been called to the scene.

Forward progress has been stopped, but firefighters are expected to remain on scene for several hours mopping up.
