Cal Fire and Oroville City Firefighters with help from other local companies got a quick jump on two fires burning within a mile of each other today.

Cal Fire says one burning at the end of Palermo Drive in the Kelly Ridge area was 50 percent at 10 acres at 2:00 p.m. with no threat to structures.

The other fire, in the Oroville city limits, charred about 8 acres in the Limelight Way area ... and is 75% contained.

They started shortly before 11 a.m. and the cause of both fires has yet to be determined.
