With the aid of cooler weather and rainfall over the last day and a half, firefighters have continued to make significant progress on North State fires.
The Day Fire remains at 13,047 acres and is now 75 percent contained. Mop-up operations are underway, and incident officials anticipate full containment of the fire by Saturday August 9.
The Eiler Fire continues to burn four miles southeast of Burney and has burned 31,085 acres of Lassen National Forest and adjacent lands. Containment has increased from 20 percent yesterday to 35 percent this morning. Full containment is expected by Wednesday August 20.
The Bald Fire, southeast of McArthur, has burned 39,926 acres and is 68 percent contained. The anticipated full containment date is Sunday August 17.
Fire officials say warmer and dry weather, with the potential for thunderstorms is a cause for concern going into Wednesday evening.
