A special remembrance ceremony was held at fire station 1 in Chico this morning, honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost on this day 12 years ago. A statement was read over the Chico fire radio frequency, followed by a moment of silence. There was also a bell ringing ceremony to coincide with the times the towers were struck and signal the final alarm for firefighters being called to the scene. For the parents of Nicole Miller, who was aboard flight 93 when it went down in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 9/11 is about keeping a positive attitude despite their loss. They attended the ceremony Wednesday morning and shared memories of their daughter. A second ceremony was also held this afternoon at fire station 5.
