Fire Near Tierra Oaks Drive Outside Lake Shasta Contained

(UPDATE) 4:22 p.m.-The fire outside the city of Lake Shasta near Tierra Oaks Drive has been fully contained. The road closures initiated earlier this afternoon will be lifted no later than 6 p.m.

(UPDATE) 3:24 p.m.- The Fire near Tierra Oaks Drive east of I-5 is now approximately 20 acres which began around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon and is currently burning east. There are currently 150 Fire personnel at the scene, two water tenders, and one helicopter. There are no reports of injuries or structures damaged, but the fire continues to pose a threat to nearby structures. There is currently a road closure of Tierra Oaks Drive and Phaedra Lane at Union School Road. Fire crews are expected to reach full containment in the next couple of hours. DEVELOPING: Action News is at the scene of a fire near Tierra Oaks Drive just outside Shasta City north of Redding. The fire is burning approximately burning 10-plus acres. There are no reports of damages to structures, but homes in the area may be threatened. Fire crew with helicopters are on scene, and we are working on gathering more information and will bring you the latest information as it comes in.
