Fire equipment stolen as crews investigate Oroville house fire

Oroville fire officials say somebody walked off with several hundred dollars’ worth of equipment while crews were investigating a house fire on Robinson Street Monday.

A black box (pictured below) containing valuable fire investigation tools was stolen off of the front porch while crews were inside a home on Robinson Street near 2nd Avenue around 11:45 a.m.

Fire investigators were on the scene to investigate what started a fire that did $70,000 worth of damage to the home’s living room and kitchen.

Anyone with information on the theft is urged to call the Oroville Fire Department at 530-538-2480.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
