Fire east of Jarbo Gap 90 percent contained

Butte County fire officials say a fire that broke out just south of Pulga Sunday afternoon is 90 percent contained.

The fire broke out around 3 p.m. Sunday, and is burning off of Highway 70, south of Pulga and east of Jarbo Gap.

As of 9:30 a.m. Monday, the fire has burned 10 acres and destroyed an outbuilding, but no injuries or other damages have been reported. Crews are expected to remain on scene all day strengthening fire lines and investigating the cause, which remains unknown.

Officials have closed one lane of westbound Highway 70, near Pulga Road to allow emergency vehicles through.
