Fire investigators suspect an unattended barbecue caused a fire at a tri-plex on the 1000 block of Montgomery Street in Oroville today. The fire was first reported at 12:05 p.m.

According to the Oroville Fire Department, the fire somehow caught the porch on fire which eventually ignited a fire in the attic. Four engines responded to the tri-plex to put out the flames. No injuries were reported, but the three tenants of the tri-plex were displaced due to smoke, fire, and water damage.

Montgomery Street remains closed at this time as crews continue to mop up the scene.
