Hotter temperatures, and drier conditions will bring higher fire danger to the north state. The moisture associated with the trough of low pressure will continue to diminish throughout your Thursday, as the system heads out of our area.
The diminishing moisture, and clearing skies will lead to higher temperatures this afternoon. Valley locations will be just short of the century mark , and mountain areas will be in the high 80's to mid 90's. Winds will not be very strong, and are only expected to gust up to around 10mph out of the Southwest.
There will be a chance for afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains over the next several days, and that will increase the concern for lightning sparked fires in the higher elevations.
