Evacuation orders were lifted Monday for residents of some 200 homes, as crews make good progress against the Oregon Fire burning near Weaverville.

Fire officials say the blaze in Trinity County was 60 percent contained Tuesday morning.

The fire has burned just under 1 square mile, or 580 acres, of timber and brush about 2 miles west of town.

CalFire spokeswoman Cris Hartman said the blaze, sparked Sunday afternoon near Highway 299, damaged one structure, likely a barn or a large outbuilding.
