Fire Crews Battle Fire Overnight in Paradise

Fire crews have been working all night to fully contain a wildfire in Paradise.

It’s now at 50% containment and burned at least an acre and threatened more than a dozen homes along Country Club Drive in Paradise.

The blaze broke out around 5 yesterday evening on the west branch of the Feather River.

Fire crews from Cal Fire were unable to get to the fire initially, due to the rough terrain.

Cal Fire aircraft were then called in and held the fire at bay until fire fighters were able to reach the flames.

Fire crews were able to reach the fire via a hiking trail along the flumes.

Division Chief David Hawks says the cause of the fire is under investigation but they do not have any suspicion or reason to believe it is arson.
