Firefighters are still investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a Los Molinos thrift store Monday morning.
The Guardian Angel Foundation store on Highway 99 near Marek Road was completely destroyed by the blaze that was reported around 7:45 a.m. Monday.
Firefighthers say the building was fully involved when they arrived and they had to take a defensive approach, because the closest fire hydrant was half a mile away.
Investigators say they have ruled out electrical problems and lightning as potential causes.
"At this time it is hard to say it is suspicious. There are just questions that need to be answered as far as whereabouts," Battalion Chief Matt Chamblin said.
Anyone who was in the area and may have noticed anything suspicious around 7:30 this morning is asked to call Tehama County CalFIRE at (530) 528-5199.
