CHINO, Calif. (AP) — A female high school basketball coach in Chino has been charged for allegedly sexually abusing a teenage girl.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/18pVhJR) 20-year-old Valerie Segura, a junior varsity basketball coach at Don Lugo School, was charged Thursday with two felony counts and two misdemeanors counts.

Prosecutors say Segura knew the girl and the crimes happened over the past year. They say Segura sent harmful material to the girl with the intent to seduce her.

Segura was taken into custody Tuesday following a basketball game and has been placed on administrative leave.

She graduated from the high school where she played for the girls' basketball team and was named all-league first team member.
