The Federal Bureau of Investigation, along with the Plumas County law enforcement agencies, are searching for a man who robbed the U.S. Bank in Chester Monday morning.

Authorities say the suspect entered the bank around 11:25 a.m. and demanded money from the teller while brandishing a handgun. The suspect then fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money.

After the robbery, Chester Elementary School and Chester High School were placed on lockdown while the area was searched.

The suspect was never located, but the sheriff's office says he is a white male in his 30's, he has a medium build and was wearing a black San Francisco Giants hat.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to call the Plumas County Sheriff's Office at (530) 283-6375.
