NAPA, Calif. (AP) - A fast-spreading fire is burning east of Lower Lake in Northern California and fire officials say people living in the area have been ordered to immediately evacuate.

Cal Fire and Lake County Sheriff Officials didn't know exactly how many people are leaving their homes.

Cal Fire says the blaze began Wednesday afternoon and is traveling at a rapid rate because the terrain is heavy with brush and timber. They say access is difficult.

The wildfire has burned 150 acres.
