They're standing behind the man accused of killing their mother. The family of Karen Duenas said in a statement to the media this afternoon.

Over the last several months, they have shown up in numbers to every single court hearing. But for the first time today, the families of both mark and Karen Duenas pleaded for answers in the case.

Karen Duenas was found stabbed to death in her Cottonwood home in the early morning hours of may 5th.

Police identified her husband, Mark Duenas as a person of interest. Five months later, after discovering he had a secret relationship with another woman, Mark Duenas was arrested.

Police say he even admitted to the murder in a 911 call, but Karen's family members say mark is innocent and the real killer got away.

“The Duenas family lost a wife, a mother, and a grandma. The Tenney family lost a daughter, a sister, and a friend. These are most difficult times. The Tenney family would like to day that they continue to give love and support to Mark Duenas and his boys and their families,” said Jennifer Tenney Regelin, Karen Duenas’ Sister.

Mark's attorney says investigators immediately focused on Duenas and did not follow up on other leads. He also blamed the media for blindly believing law enforcement statements.

The family of Mark and Karen are gathering money to offer as a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Karen's killer.
