Fallling Trees Kill Two in Paradise

UPDATE 10:31 a.m.- Two people are dead after high gust winds caused several trees to fall into a home and a vehicle in Paradise this morning.
Paradise Police Lt. Steve Rowe told Action News Now they are working on 11 active location at this time as several trees have fallen onto power lines causing power outages for at least 7,000 PG&E customers.
Cal Fire officials say a tree fell onto a car on Bettencourt Lane killing one person inside, another death was reported on the 1400 block of Lofty Lane after a tree fell into the home.
PG&E has been called out to the scene as they try to restore power to residents.
Red Cross is trying to set up a shelter near the area.

High gusty winds are causing havoc across the North State as several trees have caused major power outages in Butte County. As of 9:00 a.m., more than 5900 customers are without power in northern Paradise and Magalia. Public work crews has closed off Elliott RD from Ingalls to Copeland Rd because of downed trees and power line. Residents on Temple Court are being asked to shelter in place because of power lines down. Initial reports say Clark RD maybe also closed because of multiple power lines in the road way.
