DALLAS (AP) - Federal aviation officials are looking into three different instances last night in which planes in the Dallas area were hit by a laser beam.

The planes, from Southwest Airlines and Virgin America, as well as a private business jet, were flying between 3,000 and 4,000 feet when they were hit by the laser beam while flying into Dallas Love Field.

An FBI campaign last year targeted the illegal use of laser pointers to distract airplanes.
