Extreme heat arrives in the north state today.
Expect temperatures in the valley to range from 104 degrees in Chico, to 110 degrees in Red Bluff.
Mountain areas will climb into the mid 90's to low 100's this afternoon. The severe heat will continue over the next couple of days before temperatures take a slight dip midweek. Even with the slightly cool down later this week, temperatures will continue to be above average throughout your entire 7 day forecast.
Your fourth of July forecast will still be hot. Expect plenty of sunshine, and temperatures in the mid to high 90's for the holiday.
Check back later for some suggestions about how you can stay safe in this extreme heat. I hope everyone finds good ways to beat the heat over the next couple of days, and has a marvelous Monday.
