Extreme Heat Ahead For Your Thursday Farmcast

Jul 30, 2015 9:37 AM by Cort Klopping

Extremely hot temperatures, low humidity values, and declining air quality are ahead for your Thursday Farmcast. Temperatures are starting out in the low to mid 70's for the valley, and are projected to climb into the 105 to 112 degree range this afternoon. Winds will be up to 10mph out of the Northwest, but will shift and become out of the South tonight. Humidity values will continue to be dangerously low, and will fall to around 10 percent. Hazy conditions from several fires burning in the area will be very apparent today, and poor air quality will be an issue for those working outside. Your Thursday morning sunrise is set for 6:04am, and sunset will be at 8:23pm.

Temperatures will start to drop on Friday, but will stay above average through the weekend. Winds will become out of the South tonight, and will be up to around 10mph on Friday. There will be monsoonal moisture heading up to the north state from our Southeast. That moisture will leave the valley with partly cloudy skies, and mountain areas with a chance of thunderstorms on Friday, and Saturday. Please make sure you're careful in the extreme heat, and poor air quality ahead for today.
