A construction project beginning Monday will cause a few delays for Butte County drivers this week.
Starting this Monday until Sunday March 29, the Union Pacific railroad crossing on Durham Dayton Highway will be closed to traffic. The closure will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Traffic will be detoured around the closure by way of the Midway, Blossom Lane, and Jones Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for the detour.
The closure on Durham Dayton Highway is part of routine railroad maintenance being performed by the Union Pacific Railroad. The maintenance will be performed on 11 railroad crossings in the Durham area during the week, but only the crossing at Durham Dayton Highway will require the road to be closed.
