D Ray East, 63 years old, suffered sever wounds to his hand and face. Now the sheriff has ordered an evacuation of all homes within a quarter mile of the sight of the explosion, a home at 9021 Chaparral Drive. Chaparral Drive is closed off by a roadblock just south of Vladimir Court. An evacuation center has been set up by the Red Cross at Manzanita Elementary School on Manzanita Hills Avenue.
