Officials at Enloe Medical Center say they have a plan in place for every Halloween, just in case their typical spike in alcohol-related patients is a sharp one.
On any given holiday, Enloe says they average about 25 alcohol-related visits.
Last night, they saw four students with alcohol toxicity admitted to the ER.
"In general all holidays but Halloween specifically has been a great party time for Chico and we do tend to have pretty heavy spikes with our alcohol related admissions during that time to the ER," said Enloe Nurse Manager Arah Barham.
Barham says always put an unresponsive, intoxicated person in a rescue position on their side so their airway is protected and they don't choke.
