Enloe Medical Center is celebrating its 100 year anniversary with a new book that covers the hospital's history since first opening its doors in Chico. It contains pictures and detailed stories about the hospital's founder, Dr. Newton Thomas Enloe. There are also shots of Enloe's original location on Flume Street when it opened on September 15th, 1913. Enloe Medical Center is one of two independent hospitals that remain in California. It has grown from a staff of roughly 30 employees since first opening to now more than 2,500. The book will be released September 20th and will be available at Enloe's gift shop, Made in Chico, and Lyon's books.
