February is Heart Month, and Enloe Medical Center is celebrating with events throughout the month that promote good heart health, focusing on nutrition, fitness, and medication information. On Valentine's Day, former heart patients were invited to a luncheon, including a light meal, chocolate covered strawberries, and tips from the experts. Hospital staff, including Cardiac Electro Physiologist Dr. Walter Kusumoto, M.D., says the number one way a person can take care of their heart is to not smoke. There is one more event in honor of heart month. Thursday, February 21 at the Enloe Conference Center, the hospital will host "Understanding Your Heart Medication." Just bring in your list of medications, and they'll tell you how to use them, what drugs they should not be taken with, and any other questions you might have. That's from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
