Elevated Fire Danger Returning To The North State

Oct 2, 2014 7:46 AM by Cort Klopping

Hot, dry, and windy conditions are leading to an increase in fire danger for your Thursday. Winds are expected to be strongest this morning, with gusts up to around 20mph out of the North. Winds will be able to die down this afternoon, as a ridge builds into the coast. While that ridge will help to limit winds, it will also leave the region with hot, and dry conditions ahead. Temperatures will climb back into the mid 80's to low 90's for the valley this afternoon, and humidity values will drop down into the teens. Fire danger will be in the moderate to high range for your Thursday afternoon.
