More than a dozen wildfires are burning in northern California and the situation has prompted Governor Brown to declare a state of emergency.
The Eiler Fire in eastern Shasta County has grown to nearly 23,000 acres and as of 11 a.m. Sunday was 0 percent contained.
Evacuations orders remain in effect for the communities of Hat Creek, Cassel, Big Eddy Estates, and Johnson.
Residents living in the Burney area being advised to prepare to evacuate if the order is given, a Red Cross shelter has been set up at Fall River Mills High School.
Officials say that current weather conditions are a cause for concern. The hot, dry, unstable conditions are suitable for explosive fire growth, and the potential for thunderstorms Monday could cause continued fire growth.
The fire has burned 8 homes, 20 outbuildings and one nonresidential structure.
