Northern California authorities say gunmen fired shots into a charter party bus, injuring four and temporarily shutting down an interstate highway east of San Francisco.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the bus was coming off the Bay Bridge around 2:25 a.m. Saturday when two gunmen in a red SUV drove alongside the bus and opened fire.
Three people suffered minor injuries. A fourth sustained critical injuries but is expected to survive.
California Highway Patrol Officer Daniel Hill said the victims, who were not immediately identified, did not cooperate with law enforcement on scene.
Hill said others on the bus became combative, and one assaulted an officer who was attempting to interview her. One of the victims got into an altercation with emergency personnel.
