A house fire occurred near the intersection of 4th street and Hazel in Chico around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Chico fire say that the fire started outside near the front of a home and escalated to the attic. According to investigators some of the front rooms were damaged but the rest of the home was saved.
Upon arrival there were reports that someone was still inside the burning home. By the time fire crews entered the home everybody escaped safely. One person in the house supstained injuries to their feet. The medics treated the person's burned feet at the scene and they declined transportion to the hospitol by ambulance.
The street was closed for some time while crews were cleaning up. PGE was on the scene because of downed power lines. 4th street has been reopened.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
