Two people familiar with the decision say the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a three-year contract with running back Ryan Mathews.

Both sources spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Wednesday because the deal is pending Mathews having a physical. The contract is reportedly worth $11.5 million with $5 million guaranteed.

The Eagles were looking for a running back after trading two-time All-Pro LeSean McCoy to Buffalo last week. They had agreed to a deal with Frank Gore before he changed his mind and signed with Indianapolis.

Mathews twice rushed for 1,000 yards in five seasons in San Diego. He missed 10 games due to injuries last season and has played 16 games only once.
