Hot cars and cool art were on display at Durham Community Park this weekend.
An estimated 3,000 people attended the Durham Harvest Festival and Car Show Sunday.
Put on by the Durham Rotary Club, this a major fundraiser for the community with money generated here goes to local high school scholarships.
Event organizers say this festival showcases the beauty that Durham has to offer and ultimately attracts new residents.
“It introduces people that come from around the area to the park and brings them around to Durham,” said festival announcer Bill Dempsey. “A lot of people that see this for the first time say, “Gee, what a great place.” And we’ve had a lot of growth in Durham and I think some of it is undoubtedly due to the park here.”
Additional funds raised during this festival go towards community projects.
